5 Quick "Fashion" Costume Ideas for Halloween

Every fashion freak’s favorite holiday.

Most costumes for Halloweekend are overdone. From the naughty devils to sexy cats, there are always multiple girls at the same party wearing the same costumes. Not only is it awkward, but it isn’t creative. For fashion lovers, why not spice things up and go as your favorite iconic fashion moments and characters? From Naomi Campbell to The Matrix, we got you covered, so don't worry about looking basic this Halloween.

Rihanna at the Met

Everyone knows Rihanna is the unspoken queen of the Met Gala. From her sexy pope fantasy to her beautifully constructed Comme Des Garçon moment, there are so many looks to choose from. But if you’re pressed on time and really need a last minute costume, we recommend you go for her 2007, "China: Through the Looking Glass," look. All you need are some nude pumps, a gold headpiece (if you have one), and a gold blanket to wrap yourself with. Though we can’t say the blanket is at the same level as Rihanna’s multi-thousand dollar Guo Pei gown, it will get the job done.

Matrix

If you’re looking to be a trendy and bad bitch, why not live your best Trinity or Leo fantasy. The late 90s and early 2000s are everything right now, and The Matrix is one of the most memorable movies from the era. Plus, nothing looks cooler than a pair of tiny black sunglasses and a full (hopefully vegan) leather moment: a skin-tight pant, sleeveless top, and snatched long coat. Not only is an all-black look slimming, but it is equally sexy and powerful. Rather you chose the blue pill or red pill, it won’t really matter because either way, you'll look sickening.

Naomi Campbell Community Service Courte

No model will ever compare to Naomi. From her legendary runways to diva persona, Naomi is a real supermodel, and she not afraid to let you know. In 2007, the icon got in trouble with the law for throwing a phone at your housekeeper over a pair of jeans. Though we do not approve of any form of violence, the altercation gave us Naomi ’s haute couture community service look. Our favorite moment was when Naomi strutted out of a sanitation garage wearing a silver Dolce and Gabbana gown with f’s given. If you are looking for something more obscure, this costume is perfect. Add a pair of matching silver heels, a corset, and a black bob to the dress and you ready to party.

Edna Mode

You could go as Anna Wintour, with a simple dress, huge sunglasses, and an issue of the latest American Vogue, but why not add a Pixar touch and be Edna Mode! The high-fashion designer and cartoon star has a sassy attitude, yet still has British class. Inspired by Hollywood costume designer, Edith Head, her signature outfit is quite simple. Just grab a black bob (like the one from the Naomi costume), black dress, and black flats and you'll be recognized by all ages.

Icon. Artist. Legend. Edna Mode is back, dahlings. #Incredibles2

Lady Gaga and the Meat Dress

You probably don’t remember anything for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards – except for Gaga’s meat dress. Not only did the pop star become the most nominated artist in VMA history in a single year that night, but she made fashion history. The singer turned actress has many memorable red carpets moments throughout her career, but this look is truly the most outlandish. We definitely do not recommend draping meat all over yourself (because smelling like wet beef isn’t cute), but if you have the time, the dress could be a fun DIY moment.
